The World Trade Center collapse

As the 10-year anniversary of the Sept. 11 attack approaches, it is time to again wonder what made the three buildings (not only two) collapse. They fell straight down, at free-fall speed, turning to rubble of concrete dust and melted frame steel. Videos on Youtube show the collapses to resemble controlled demolitions. But terrorists would not be able to prepare the buildings for demolition; so many "truthers" have suggested that the American government faked the whole attack. I have a more reasonable explanation.

The Norwegian government has prepared bridges and roads in Finnmark for controlled demolition, to slow down a surprise invasion by a foreign army. There are dynamite chambers in the supports, positioned so that the bridges will fall sideways. The bridges nearest Russia are preloaded and can be detonated by remote control. For bridges farther away, the chambers are open, and soldiers are trained to quickly place dynamite in them in an emergency. Cliffs above certain roads are also prepared to be blasted. I have put out a Youtube-video showing pictures of some of these chambers on bridges and roads.

Now consider the World Trade Center buildings. They were first attacked in 1993. Terrorists placed a truck bomb in the North Tower (1

WTC) and the idea was to topple it sideways, so it would fall over onto the South Tower (2 WTC). The blast did not destroy the building, but a bigger bomb might have succeeded.

The owners of the WTC then realized that the buildings might be the target of future terrorist attacks. A tall building that falls sideways would cause much more damage than a building that falls straight down. If a building becomes badly damaged it might be good to be able to bring it straight down by controlled demolition.

I think that the owners secretly prepared the buildings for such an emergency after 1993. Their intentions were good, and they knew enough to keep things secret. But then in 2001 when the buildings were attacked, someone decided to push the buttons and drop them. Those intentions were perhaps not so good, but the government would do its best to cover up the mistake.
